CSR is a vital aspect of modern business that involves taking responsibility for the impact of corporate activities on society and the environment. The win-win partnership for both of us in the context of CSR activities leads to achievement of social and environmental goals of companies and on the other side, Atchayam benefits from increased funding, visibility, and capacity-building opportunities. This ultimately helps us to achieve our vision.

For a nation to attain its summit of success in financial growth, the various stakeholders (Government, Corporates and private firms) should come forward to fulfill the global goals also known as SDGs adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

In India, according to the latest census by the Union Ministry of Social Justice, there are about 4 lakh beggars out of a total population of 4,13,670. More than 50% of the country’s population is underprivileged and the total number of disabled population in India was 21.90 million as per the census. The marginalized people may either be an economically unproductive ousted elderly people wandering in public and private places or a person with lack of mental health or differently able person or may be women. Most of these categorized people are ostracized by the society mainly for psychosocial and economic reasons. They are deprived of education, good health and employment opportunities. Added to the misery, they are subjected to physical, psychological and emotional abuse, while mentally impaired women are more vulnerable and victims of sexual violence. It is the basic right of a every human to enjoy a dignified and decent life. It is hard for these people to fulfill their dreams unless they are aided with support.

Against the above scenario, Atchayam Trust strives hard with an ultimate vision to ‘Create a Beggar Free India’ by its mission of rescuing and rehabilitating the beggars and destitute; other services like providing them food, cloth and shelter apart from health care services; thereby improving the life status of those people and achieving the socio economic transformation. By the means, fulfilling and aligned with some of the notable SDGs.

As per the new Companies (Corporate Social Responsibility Policy)Amendments Rules, 2021, all form of NPOs (Section 8 company, registered trust or a registered society) not established by a Company needs to fulfill the following conditions in order to obtain CSR funds and implement CSR activities

3	Registered Trusts/Societies must have an established track record of at least three years in undertaking similar activities.	With a vision ignited on founder’s mind in 2013, Atchayam trust was established in 2014 formally, its been successful ten years of excellence in the services undertaken.
4	The Companies Act, 2013 encourages companies to target their CSR interventions in their local region/area around where it operates.	The initiatives of Atchayam have outreached over 18 districts of Tamilnadu.
5	The Companies Act states that CSR funding should not be considered as a one-time philanthropy but rather focus on activities which have large scale impact and are effectively managed.	10 years of service and outreach over 18 districts in Tamilnadu itself a testimony for large scale impact.
6	The New Companies Act largely recommends activities that support the fulfillment of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG).	Our services address eradicating poverty and hunger; promoting gender equality and empower women; thereby lifting the socio economic status of an individual and nation.
7	The act defines CSR as activities that eradicates hunger, poverty and malnutrition, promotes health care ,education, sports ,gender equality, environmental sustainability, Protection of National Heritage, art and culture ,Measure for the benefit of militants, contribution to the socio-economic development ,research and Rural, slum area development projects, Disaster management, including relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction .	With begging being a social threatening scenario, Atchayam being an instrumental in eradicating beggary by offering them basic needs with clinical health care support and employability enhancement skills without any kind of discrimination, eradicates hunger and poverty. Our services fall within the defined activities of Companies Act, 2013.

The pledge taken by every volunteer of Atchayam team is to offer material support and food to beggars rather than money; We insist awareness among the public the same; Atchayam strives to rescue beggars and comfort them by offering a nutritious meal everyday once they are admitted under the care of our home.
2	Eradicating poverty	By the way of eradicating hunger of each needy and inculcating employability skills, we achieve socio economic transformation by Providing jobs in private firms with the support of Atchayam Extends material support to encourage self employment
3	Promoting health Care & sanitation	Every rescued elderly are assisted with 24x7 clinical care by the physicians, physiotherapy treatments, nursing facility and supplementary medicines free of cost. Dying destitute are provided with utmost medical care24x7 to alleviate their sufferings and unbearable pain Mental health services including medications for anxiety or depression, health visits by psychologists and therapist and consultations with the social worker are provided for mentally ill people. Ensuring personal hygiene among the residents of the home with an aid of social workers.
4	Promoting employment enhancing vocation skills	Empowering through skill development program and vocational skill training among women, elderly and the differently abled to enhance the employability of marginalized people; to lead a dignified lifestyle and to enjoy a sustainable livelihood.

8	Environment Sustainability	Our green Atchayam Home is an environment friendly and a sustainable model Biogas plant that recycles organic waste in an eco-friendly manner. Rain water harvesting system to conserve water, eco friendly lighting to save energy and usage of eco friendly products. Solar panels that combats greenhouse gas emissions and thereby renewable energy improves public health
